  • Anime Magic! is proud to announce our first ever Anime Music Video contest! Use your editing skills to set the stage for an exciting and fun showcase where you attempt to captivate an audience with your melding of sound and sight, where your submissions will be played live on stage and then assessed by our panel of judges to award our top three contestants at the end of the show! Please read our full FAQ before submitting, and we can't wait to see what you are able to create!

  • Yes! You can select to create a video based on the following categories:

    Slice of Life

    Comedy

    Horror/Suspense

    Drama

    ActionSci-Fi

    Romance

    Other

    Videos in these categories can be edited in whatever style works best for your vision. As a film trailer, remixes of popular videos, freestyle of something new, or a even a traditional music video format. Submissions can be live action, Anime, CGI, etc, video games, but keep in mind that this is an ANIME music video contest.

  • 1. All entries must be a "single editor project" and each applicant will be allowed to submit a single video for consideration for this event, per person.

    2. Video submissions can have been produced during the 2023-2024 calendar year, but not before. If you have one ready to go that was produced between Jan 01 2023 and July 2024, it is eligible for consideration.

    3. Do not submit work that does not belong to you. Doing so will result in removal from the contest and a permanent ban from participating in future Anime Magic related AMV contests/showcases.

    4. Promotion of products, personal projects, other conventions/events, will disqualify you from consideration for participation. If you are accepted and you alter your edit to include any of these things, you will be permanently banned from participating in future Anime Magic related AMV contests/showcases.

    5. Video submissions must be between 1 and 5 minutes in length including any opening bumper/closing transition credits.

    6. Video submissions featuring political rhetoric, explicit sexual content, overly lewd (PG-13 or less, please) content, or hate speech of any sort will not be considered for the contest and will result in a permanent ban from future Anime Magic related AMV contests/showcases.

  • Your submissions will be primarily judged in three categories by a panel of judges who will be announced at the event. Secondary to your judging panel, your peers in the audience will also be used as a metric to help your judges decide on their winning picks.

    Your submissions will be judged on the following standards.

    1. Eye for Editing – Comedy, camp, drama, horror, it doesn’t matter what you choose, but the strength of your editing skills and your ability to tell a story with those skills can make or break your final score! Do your best to draw your judges & audience into the theme of your submissions!

    2. Emotional Draw– It doesn't matter what category you select in order to have an effect viewers of your work! Try your best to illicit an emotional response from your judges and your audience. Laughs, tears, scares, it's up to you to decide how best to get a rise from your presentation.

    3. Style - This one is pretty plain and simple. Do your best to include your own personal style and flair in your edits.

    The top three contest winners will be awarded a free 3-Day badge and a Gold, Silver, & Bronze medal respectively. Good luck contestants!

  • Our production team reserves to he right to deny the inclusion of a video submission or to disqualify an accepted contestant/video at their discretion.

    Try to make sure that when formatting/editing your videos that you are considering the quality of the video/encoding, editing, aspect ratios, or other video related abnormalities before submitting.

    If your video presents issues that prevent our production team from integrating your submissions into the editing software we cannot include it in the contest.

    Please only submit ONE entry per person. Secondary submissions will not be reviewed/included.

    General Video Submission Considerations
